Founded in 2018, we are Mozambique’s Market Systems Development (MSD) network. We disseminate MSD practice to transform traditional project design and implementation, share lessons learned from real MSD projects, and train practitioners, donors and consultants.
Our aim is to disseminate MSD practice (Market Systems Development) in Mozambique — supporting organisations, donors and implementers to convert traditional project design and implementation to the MSD approach, which works with market actors to generate systemic, sustainable change at scale.
We promote MSD principles and good practice across Mozambique’s development community, private sector and public sector.
Webinars, case studies and learning tools produced by ongoing and completed MSD projects — practical, evidence-based knowledge.
Mostly online courses covering principles, design, implementation, M&E, gender, resilience and climate change in MSD programmes.
Closing event of TechnoServe’s Women IN Business (WIN) programme, with M-Pesa: 200 registrants from 139 organisations and 10 countries, 55 live participants, and 86% rated the session very useful for designing products and services for rural women. Virtual MSD principles training for government officials in the agriculture sector — with over 35 participants from across the country.
We have run several end-of-programme webinars to enable the sharing of expertise and lessons across projects and the MSD community — including the INOVAGRO end of project, the INOVA end of project, and facilitation of the WIN 1 project stakeholder virtual session. Next up is the WIN end-of-project webinar on 26 August. Lessons from these events feed the network's MSD knowledge repository.
Practical, mostly online training for practitioners, donors and consultants. We are the team that translated the BEAM Exchange training materials into Portuguese — the global MSD reference, verified, tested and applied worldwide — and they are the basis of our training.
